The Drift that MEN encounter without a PLAN!

So as I was thinking of how I would introduce myself in these articles and it just seems like I get anxious thinking about misrepresenting myself because the reality for me along with all of you is that we have a number of different roles when we really think about it. Not only do we play so many different roles, quite frankly with life being a constantly moving adventure we may not be doing so well in any specific category. Do I really call myself a businessman and entrepreneur when I can’t make payroll? Do I really call myself a brother when I haven’t called my sibling in months?

I’m a father, husband, brother, friend, Entrepreneur, coach, athlete, and depending on when in my life you managed to catch me, I could be either pretty shitty or in contrast pretty damn good at any of these roles but what is the reason for this??? Let’s be honest isn’t that what life is about?? Starting something being shitty and then learning and adjusting until you begin improving and getting better results. The problem that I’ve had in the past is the consistency with improving on something and without some level of intention, things just don’t get done!

Looking back at my path and life it becomes more and more clear that during times when I had no real plan or answers to the questions associated with “What do I actually want to achieve and Who do I actually want to become?” these would represent areas in my life that I woulds be stagnant with growth and this would directly represent my level of JOY and happiness?? Interesting connection here for sure, so what is the ingredient that we need to be aware of that can bring more JOY and a richer experience for us? A plan for our lives and for our growth….

This has become even more clear over the past couple weeks because I’m in between plans this past month or so and as a result I’m just wondering around checking off tasks without a REAL solid plan for improving, learning or growing. I’m easily agitated, aimless and quite frankly just pissed off and reserved and it negatively impacts my ability to connect with my family and others and I find myself in a FUNK and Drifting off to darkness….not a good place for me to hand out, I used to hang out there often and not so much anymore.

So I’m going to take action and do what brings me the most JOY and also the most growth and that is putting together a solid 90 Day Plan in each of the 4 KEY categories for a MAN’s life; Physical (Body), Spiritual (Being), Family & Relationships (Balance), and Production (Business $$$).

I’m sure most of you like me have gone through goal setting workshops in the business world but what’s different about how we are accustom to doing in the past is it’s pure focus on business and production but nothing to do with Family, Spirituality, and Physical Wellness. All of which are extremely important areas of a Man’s life.

So consider beginning in each of the above categories by writing down the FACTS of where you are today without any filters! If you are 40 lbs overweight, than write that shit down…. If you have $5.00 in your bank account then write that down…. Once you have these facts written down, then time to get clear on what you want for yourself in the FUTURE (90 Days). The crazy thing is that when we begin to start our days with a clear picture of what we need to work towards and accomplish, the days become focused and productive and NEW RESULTS begin to show up our lives because of our new intentions. Small steps forward daily with consistency will get you a powerful day, week, quarter & YEAR! So happy planning…
